Sweet Surrendering brings you the story of Lucas and Aurora (aka Rory); a cute romance that centers on a woman driven to succeed at her job and the man that has her willing to risk it all.

When Rory finds herself in need of hiring an administrative assistant, she knows Lucas would be a bad idea. Not only because he is too hot for words, but because after one night in his bed she knows she won’t be able to resist him. But the only problem is, there just isn’t anyone else qualified for the job. So drawing the boundaries of a professional relationship, Rory offers him the job. Only problem is, day in and day out of flirting and sexual tension has Rory giving in to so much more.

As they balance a secret office romance, Rory slowly starts to realize that the man she is falling for his hiding far too much about himself. Once she starts to unravel his secrets she has to decide just how much she’s willing to risk for love – what secrets is she willing to live with if it means keeping the man that she loves.

Quirky. This romance was fun and humorous read. Ms. Cameron has a knack for placing little bits of humor in with her stories and this book was no different. Although I did enjoy this book, there were parts when I wanted more alone time with Lucas and Rory, apart from the other characters. One thing that I’ve noticed with her books is that there are always fantastic friendships, but for me sometimes those friendships take up a bit more of the story than I personally like.

This was enjoyed, although not my favorite of her work – I still found myself enjoying the story and was pleased with how it all turned out. Lucas’s story could have been painted numerous ways, but I think what we got was perfect for the way this story. I found these two absolutely adorable in both the simple flirting and at times, a bit explosive.

For those who became fans of Ms. Cameron with My Favorite Mistake, you are bound to enjoy this romance as well. I see that Rory & Lucas’s story isn’t quite over yet and that there are at least two more stories to this couple (along with Sloane’s story and a serial on the other characters), not sure yet if I can see Rory & Lucas’s story filling two more books... but we shall see.

This was a good story. A sweet one in the way of boy meets girl and fireworks are set and there's definitely a story behind them both but they made it through some STUFF to get to their HEA.. I liked Aurora- Rory.. I don't know how I would've been able to work with Lucah/Lucas after that "encounter" but they were adults and professional and was able to make the best of their situation... I enjoyed the humor in their relationship, their secret connection/communication that wasn't secret at all! Lol.. Her friends were great specifically Sloane and I hope she gets her HEA.. Their physical connection was steaming and all I can say is that there was a time to describe it in great detail and a time to just say well you know what happened and I appreciated that! This is a good story and seeing there's another I'm sure there's more that will be explored! I also enjoyed their honesty with each other about feelings so things were not dragging on for a long time.. Overall.. Good book!
I always enjoy a romance book that features an office relationship and this was a good example of one. It has the right amount of snark throughout it that had me grinning like an idiot all the way through. The couple has great chemistry and there is a lot of sexual tension. Rory was like an open book, baring herself and her feelings but Lucas was a bit reserved. He had a lot of secrets, and he even told Rory that he has secrets, and she accepted him anyway. But secrets always come back to bite you in the ass, it's just a matter of time.

Rory was a hoot of a character. She is smart, beautiful and oh-so hilarious. She says exactly what she means and I was constantly laughing at the things she said or did. Even though she is an only daughter and was raised with money, she worked her way up to the position she holds now. She tries to portray herself as a successful bitch at work, but she is not like that outside of it. She is a grounded character and I liked that about her. Lucas is confident and a bit of a smart-ass, and as soon as he walked into the building he clashed with Rory, demanding an interview for the assistant job Rory was filling. When they cross paths again there is no denying that they are going to end up naked! And then she is persuaded to hire him… Oh boy!

I found this to be an easy enjoyable read and it had a lot of humour throughout it and I think that is why I found it hard to put down. The characters were fun, even Sloane, Rory's Best Friend. She was Rory's go to gal for all advice. Although it is definitely an adult romance book, with plenty of steamy sex scenes, there is a hint of seriousness about the story too. I enjoyed the book so much I am keen to read more books in this series when they come out next year!!
Just in case you're over the presumed age of the couple (25 years old) please be advised this looks like a high school romance with tons of sex and very little maturity... Don't get me wrong, there are parts of it that are fun and cute, but overall is a very childish novel! First of all it is painfully evident the writer has no clue what corporate life looks like! Second, no way a 25 years old can be at the professional level depicted here, Lucas for example had tons of experience in multiple places and in each spent at least one year (??), maybe he started when he was 8 or something. Third they both behave as teenagers, not even college students! I was reading the so called “hiring interview” and for the life of me could not understand why such a behavior would have received the type of interest, both professionally and personally. And the way Lucas almost harassed his supposed boss in the first part of the book is totally not sexy, but downright annoying, I was feeling like firing him after slapping him first!
Oh, and let’s not forget the 20 years old impersonation of “Sex in the city”. One less credible than another!!
The price of the book is very interesting, especially as the book is long. The writing style is nice and fluent, but in my view the plot and characters do not deserve the time lost to go through it…
